Our Enrollment Process
During the tour, parents get to walk through our entire facility and sit down for a Q&A session with the Director where she explains our philosophy, and policies and answers any questions you may have regarding our policies.
We encourage families to take the information from the tour home, review it, and then decide if Great Beginnings is a good match for their family. After your initial tour, you may schedule to visit again alone or with your child to help you get a better feel for our program and see if it will be a good fit for your family’s needs.
Families interested in our Preschool programs (ages 2-5) are welcome to have their child present during the tour so they can spend time with the other children, and meet the Teacher.
In order to enroll in and begin attending the center, each child must have their pediatrician complete a Virginia school entry physical examination form and be up to date on ALL immunizations.
Our Wait List Procedure
Preference is given to families who are currently enrolled or on our current year’s waitlist. New children are admitted on a first-applied basis. Our enrollments run year-round as long as space is available. A complete application includes a completed waitlist form as well as a non-refundable waitlist fee of $150. The waitlist fee is credited to the family’s enrollment fee when they eventually get a spot and enroll in our program.
Great Beginnings Early Learning Center utilizes an “active” waitlist system. As such, families who want to remain active on the waitlist must proactively check in with the center to confirm their intent to remain on the waitlist, at least once every 90 days.
Once a spot becomes available for your child, we will typically contact you about 30 days before your selected start date to confirm your intent to move forward and give you till the close of the following business day to confirm your plans.
Once you confirm your intent to take the spot, an enrollment packet and invoice for the $300 reservation fee will be sent to you via our Brightwheel app, and payment of that invoice will be required within 1 business day to hold the spot. Once the reservation fee is received, the spot will be closed off to other families and reserved for you with a guaranteed start date. Families who do not accept a spot when contacted, or do not respond within the stated times will be removed from the waitlist and the spot will be offered to the next family in line.
