Programs & Activities

Here at Great Beginnings, we believe in the spiritual, educational, and overall development of children as they grow, learn, play, and explore the world around them.  Our program is carefully designed to meet each child’s individual needs. We involve all our children in the learning process from the infant class through four-year-old learners. We believe that no child is too young to learn with developmentally appropriate activities. The content and experience offered vary according to the age of the children. Our Programs are open from 7:00am – 6:00pm daily.

Lessons include activities to enhance skills in:

  • Pre-and Beginning Reading
  • Pre-and Beginning Math
  • Nature & Science
  • Arts & Crafts
  • Fine and Gross Motor Skills
  • Music & Dance
  • Social Skills & Recreational Play

Our Curriculum
We use the rigorous A Beka Curriculum designed by the Pensacola Christian College to ensure that children grow up with a sound foundation and are taught the educational, social, developmental and behavioral skills necessary to be prepared to enter the school system as well as engage as active participants in their family and in the community. The A Beka Curriculum has been renowned for decades as strong in the area of phonics and penmanship.
We also incorporate the Creative Curriculum which is very hands-on with lots of fun and engaging activities as well as a science component. Our blending of both curricula helps to tailor our teaching to each child’s learning style

    Extracurricular Activities

    • Library Section

Early Learners have access to reading materials and books designed to expand their language and comprehension skills as well as increase their understanding of the world around them. Teachers will engage children in the “process of telling the story”, letter, picture and name recognition and support the development of their long-term memory. In a book, children can go to other lands, spend storybook time with friends, all in the comfort of a book all while in their classroom

    • Arts, Music & Dance
The Creative Arts is a very important part of fostering and expressing creativity in your early learner. This may take the form of free expression with crayons or paint or maybe a teacher-directed craft; music and dance as well as creative expressions. The children sing songs, play musical instruments, engage in creative expressions and participate in other activities using various forms of music. Classical music and soft tones are played during periods of rest. In addition Enrichment programs in our Preschool 2 to 5-year-old classes include gymnastics and group and individual music instruction.
